Hello my friends, As sad as I am that we have arrived at the last week of work together, I am immensely proud of you for your hard work this summer. Thanks for your participation and your contribution to the Community Spanish Program! I invite you to attend our final excursion which is a celebration dinner at La Especial Norte on Thursday July 27th at 8:00 PM. As an excursion, this dinner will provide you an opportunity to practice Spanish! The restaurant's management has happily agreed to pair us with a Spanish-speaking waiter who will help you order in Spanish! Click here for information on the restaurant. Hola mis queridas, To prepare for our long class this week (starting at 6:00 PM), please read review the video assignment from last week and refresh your memory to prepare for a class discussion. This will help us spend some time reviewing the video and looking at key vocabulary we will use in class! Very importantly, we need to spend some time reading our novel Esperanza so that we can finish it on time! For last week's class, you read chapters 4 and 5. To stay on track, please read chapter 6. Bring in any questions you have from any of these chapters to class on Thursday. As your last assignment, I would like you to respond in Spanish to each of the five questions below about the chapters we have read outside of class. Please be prepared to submit those for feedback from me on your written Spanish. Comprehension Questions: Esperanza

Questions
What questions do you have? Comment below...Part One: From our work with the text, "Transporte public en San Diego," I have written the following vocabulary list that we will be working with this class. We will review this list together next week, but please review the list and bring any questions you have to our next meeting. For your benefit, I have attached the article to the bottom of this post.
Part two: In a comment to this post, respond to the following two questions about chapter two of Esperanza. You may respond in Spanish or English. Also, feel free to respond on another participant's comment! Let's make this into a virtual classroom discussion: First, what is wrong with Esperanza's two children? Second, what do you predict will be the reason for which Alberto has not made it home yet?
