Unit Two Can-Do Statements

Queridos alumnos, 

Please use the following Can-Do statements to guide your reflection on your growth in unit two. As with unit one, select five from the list below and begin to describe your growth within your digital portfolio file. Compile evidence from your Unit Two work and assessments, using photos and videos as necessary.

If you did not finish Unit One, please do not spend time now completing Unit One. Rather, spend your time working on Unit Two and come back to Unit One on your own time. 

Remember that this is a very large and complicated assignment that will last all year long. Make sure you spend your time wisely now working on this in order to not fall behind. 

Can-Do Statements (VHL):
  1. I can recognize a variety of foods and classify them.
  2. I can identify expressions to order food in a restaurant.
  3. I can identify phrases related to describing people and things.
  4. I can say a few sentences containing the letter combination ll and the letters ñ, c, and z correctly.
  5. I can exchange some information with others about fruits and vegetables native to the Americas.
  6. I can recognize some regional terms Spanish speakers use to talk about various foods.
  7. I can identify and discuss some details about Ferran Adrià.
  8. I can describe several typical dishes from Peru, Spain, and Colombia.
  9. I can talk about events in the past.
  10. I can make comparisons in Spanish.
  11. I can use some irregular comparative forms.
  12. I can make sentences that use superlatives (best and worst) in Spanish.
  13. I can identify the main idea of a reading.
  14. I can write a review in Spanish providing opinions and using specific details, and other forms of evidence.
  15. I can identify the recommendations of a waiter.
  16. I can identify the foods a couple of people ordered.
  17. I can describe some details about traditional soups in different Spanish-speaking countries.
  18. I can explain the reactions of a kid in a commercial.
  19. I can discuss recipes with my classmates.
  20. I can recognize the importance of fresh produce in the Spanish-speaking world.
  21. I can talk about the presence of food from Spanish-speaking countries in the U.S.
  22. I can identify and discuss some details about Guatemala’s geography, history, and culture.
