Queridos alumnos,

Great start to your portfolio today in class! I am thrilled to see the reflective work you have completed based on your growth in unit one. Your work on unit one will form part of your larger year-long portfolio, so be sure to save this document with all of the evidence in your Google Drive. • I can talk about events in the past.
  • I can make comparisons in Spanish.
  • I can use some irregular comparative forms.
  • I can make sentences that use superlatives in Spanish.
  • I can use some irregular superlative forms.

Queridos estudiantes lindos,

I am so proud of you for the work you have done this week. The four parts to our first evaluation (grammar, interpersonal, interpretive, and productive) have been challenging. However, you all have shown perseverance and determination in your work. I look forward to giving you feedback and starting our next unit!

As you know, we will be starting unit two on Monday. In this unit you will be learning food and diet vocabulary, as well as developing interpersonal communication skills around ordering food and describing what you are eating. We will also be reviewing communication about the past.

In order to prepare for the rigorous work ahead, you will begin our unit with some goal setting. Download the document "Unit Reflection and Goals" and complete both sections. Be sure to spend at least 30 minutes reflecting and completing this activity. Print out your work and bring it to class on Monday September 26th, 2016. This will be your first grade in Unit Two.

I look forward to reading your reflections and starting our next unit!

Un abrazo fuerte,

Profe Pearson

Hola a todos,

I write to congratulate you on all of the hard work up you have completed up to now. Your hard work is evident in the high-quality assignments, honest reflections, and growth in your ability to communicate in Spanish! I hope that you find my feedback useful on your first two written evaluations. However, I understand that some may still feel unsure about the mistakes that I have underlined. Please feel free to each out in any of the following ways to get some extra explanation or tutoring:
  • Send an email.
  • Come see me Thursdays at lunch.
  • Come see me Tuesdays from 3:15-4:15 during office hours (by appointment).
  • Make an appointment.

Finally, please remember the following deadlines:
  1. First, evaluation corrections and/or reflection paragraphs are due by next Friday.
  2. Second, any "Re-Do" evaluations must be completed by next Thursday either during lunch or after school.
  3. Third, any missed assignments or make-up work is due by next Friday.

Please continue to reach out with any questions or concerns you may have. Also, give me your feedback and communicate when you feel stressed or overwhelmed about anything in class. This class is our class, and I am always looking for ways to make it better meet your needs.
